Enable Ireland is delighted to announce the FIESTA (Facilitating Inclusive Education and Supporting the Transition Agenda) Network! Working with 11 partner organisations across Europe over the next three years, we will develop an online network to facilitate of children with special needs during periods of transition – from preschool to primary and primary to secondary schools. The network will develop a learning approach for professionals in education, health and social services as well as tools and resources for pupils and parents. Leárgas, the Irish national training agency, is currently offering professionals in the field of education the opportunity to recieve a grant in order to attend the first FIESTA conference entitled Facilitating Inclusive Education and Supporting the Transition Agenda: Understanding and Managing Transition. The conference will take place on 30 November 2012 in Katerini, Greece. The conference will present the research activities of FIESTA to date, provide attendees with practical examples of transition models in existence and use a workshops and discussion groups to help inform the network’s outcomes.
