Enable Ireland Win Cork Chamber's Non-Profit of The Year Award
Well done to our team in Cork, who were delighted to be announced as winners of the Cork Chamber's Non-Profit of the Year Award on Friday 3rd February at the annual Chamber Dinner in City Hall.

This is the first year Cork Chamber has awarded the Cork Non-Profit of the Year Award in their Special Award Category and is a huge honour for our service in Cork to be given the award. Watch the video tribute to Cork services played on the night of the awards.

Revised National Induction Programme Now Available

The National Induction Programme has been revised and all relevant materials are now available for download.

A comprehensive Induction Resource Pack has been developed for all Line Managers and appointed Inductors. Please note Induction Training is mandatory for all new employees.

International Conference on Paediatric Spasticity, Orthopaedic, and Postural Management
 
Enable Ireland CEO Fionnuala O'Donovan; Skye Worthington (4) from Castlegregory, Co.Kerry with parents Colleen and Kevin with Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon Sinead Boran and Gillian OÕDwyer of Enable Ireland pictured in Cork as Enable Ireland hosted an international orthopaedic conference. Enable Ireland Disability Services brought together a range of international experts to discuss ways of improving specialist care and services for children with conditions such as Cerebral Palsy.

Enable Ireland will run its 3rd International Conference on Paediatric Spasticity, Orthopaedic, and Postural Management in Cork on 28th April 2017.

Official Opening of Universal Design Exhibition at National Gallery
 
National Museum of Ireland, Collins Barracks, Dublin. Universal Design exhibition. January 2017
The official opening of the Universal Design Exhibition took place on Tuesday 24th January. The exhibition will remain on display at the National Museum, at Collins Barracks, until June 2017.

It showcases the co-creation design process between DIT product design students and expert assistive technology users.

Head of Fundraising, Joanne O’Hagan, and the entire Fundraising team are delighted to welcome Avinash Sapru and Sophie Deegan to Enable Ireland.

 


Avinash (pictured right) takes up the role of Public Fundraising Manager. Sophie (left) joins as Community Fundraising Manager for Dublin, North East and East Regions. 


Give Up Clothes for Good 2017
Dates Announced!

TK Maxx Give Up Clothes for Good campaign in aid of Enable Ireland will kick off this year from 20 February 2017.  TK Maxx associates will, once again, put all their efforts behind raising clothes and cash during the Spring campaign peak. 

National radio and print ads will be used to promote the campaign once again, alongside visual displays in every store, celebrity endorsements and extensive online coverage.

Ardrahan Camogie Club
 

Members of Ardrahan Camogie Club in Galway presented a cheque for €900 to Enable Ireland before Christmas.

Bernie Higgins, Treasurer, Marita Healy, Assistant Treasurer, Aisling Brennan PRO, and Michael Brennan Club Development Officer, made the presentation at the Christmas Memorial Tree to Clare Lenehan, who represented Enable Ireland.


TLI Charity of the Year
 

TLI Group staff have voted for Enable Ireland’s Kerry Branch as their Irish Charity of the Year for 2017.


TLI Group are a specialised design and build contractor in the area of overhead lines, substations and fibre networks. The company is headquartered in Abbeydorney and has offices throughout Ireland, Northern Ireland and the UK.

€10,000 is donated by the company at the start of the year with the charities then being further supported throughout the year by additional fundraising initiatives organised by the company and staff.

In 2016, €21,500 raised for Temple Street & Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospitals.

Registration for Brain Awareness Week Events Now Open

This year, National Brain Awareness Week takes place 6-12th March and aims to raise awareness of the impact of living with a neurological condition. Registration is now open for events organised by members of the Neurological Alliance of Ireland, the national umbrella representing over thirty organisations working with people with neurological conditions and their families.
