Enable Ireland Annual Report 2013
- More Services Provided Than Ever Before

Children's Services

  • Single point of contact for each child: Each child had a key-worker - a single point of contact within Enable Ireland, responsible for maintaining contact with the family and providing support and information to them
  • 1,121 families benefited from some form of residential, community-based or in-home respite. Respite provides a break for tired families and a social outlet for children:
  • 511 children were provided with Assistive Technology (AT) services. Assistive Technology can open up the whole world to someone who otherwise might have difficult communicating, moving, learning and socialising
  • Providing services to more children and families than ever before: 1,461 children were referred to Enable Ireland, while 987 were discharged. This means that, in spite of reduced funding, we provided support to 474 families more than in 2012.

Adult Services

  • Enable Ireland Adult Services offers training, advocacy, supported housing, supported living, work sampling, respite, transport and much more: 313 Adults benefited from centre based and Personal Assistance services. 37 were new referrals.
  • A Person Centred Plan outlines a persons goals and needs and how they are going to be achieved in partnership with Enable Ireland: Over 95% of adults with Enable Ireland had one of these.
  • Enable Ireland Adult Services provided 43,156 hours of PA support in 2013. A Personal Assistant (PA) works one-on-one with an adult with a disability, ensuring all of their needs are met.
  • 165 adults benefited from respite in 2013. Respite provides a social outlet for many adults with a disability and can also be a break for their full-time carer:
