The three courses are: Module 1: Disability Awareness and Inclusion The purpose of this course is to deal with issues related to disability awareness. The learners will learn about the medical and social models of disability and about the nature and range of different barriers that prevent people with disabilities from being able to participate in everyday activities. They will also explore some tips for providing more inclusive education. The course will help learners to develop further those skills that facilitate an inclusive society. Module 2: Mentoring/Learning Support In this course learners will deal with issues related to mentoring. They will explore how they can mentor students, teachers and parents. Furthermore, they will consider how mentoring could be used for successful transition. Module 3: Collaborative Working In this course learners will deal with issues related to collaboration in the efforts for transition. More specifically, they will explore collaborations between teachers and parents, between schools and other professionals (e.g. psychologists, speech therapists) and between schools and paraprofessionals.
